Amsterdam city sight-seeing

Brunch cruise
  You will be welcomed on board with a fresh cup of coffee or tea with apple-nut cake.

Halfway through the Saturday cruise there will be a visit to a cheese farm, on Sunday there is a stroll through the Jordan district of Amsterdam. Back on board, you will be welcomed with a glass of sparkling white wine and a pastry filled with pouktry ragout, woodland mushrooms and fresh garden herbs; followed by the Brunch Buffet: your choice of brown and white breads, currant bread, Dutch "sugar bread" and gingerbread, arranged platters of deluxe cold meats and an assortment of Dutch cheeses, preserves and other sweet sandwich fillings, and a selection of fruit, and naturally unlimited coffee and tea, wine, beer and softdrinks. Dinner cruise
  Our Dinner Cruise in Amsterdam is quite an experience. On board our luxury glass-domed motor launches we combine a cruise along the illuminated canals with the delight of a 4-couse deluxe dinner.

We start with our welcome cocktail Kir Royal followed by two entrees: Tagliolini pasta with smoked lamb ham and a lavender dressing, and a consomé with fresh garden herbs. The main course is tournedos of turkey served with potatoes au gratin, seasonal vegetables and a tarragon-flavoured apple juice. The dinner will be rounded of by a raspberry charlotte surrounded by a blackberry coulis, followed by a cup of coffee or tea with a selection of traditional Dutch biscuits and a after-dinner liquer.
Red and white wine, beer and soft drinks will be served during the entire cruise. Our motorlaunches are well equipped and, when evenings are chilly, comfortably heated. The service on board is friendly, and our multilingual hostess is there to solve language problems, to comment on the scenery, and add her share to a memorable evening.

Candlelight cruise
  This romantic evening cruise through Amsterdams enchanting canals is a memorable experience.

Flowerfields and Keukenhof
  Spring in Holland brings out more than just Tulips. Millions of crocuses, hyacinths and daffodils bloom in the bulb fields between Haarlem and Leiden.

We will visit the Frans Roozen show in Vogelenzang and the flower exhibition "Keukenhof" in Lisse, where more than 700 different flowers are displayed in the enormous greenhouses and in the gardens with ponds.

Grand Holland Tour
  The first stop on this tour is at Aalsmeer, the centre of flower culture, where we visit the flower auction (closed on Sundays and replaced by a visit to a wooden shoemaker).

We proceed to Delft, a lovely 17th century town, famous for its "Delft Blue" pottery (visit). We continue to Rotterdam for lunch (not included) and a visit of the city. On the way back, we pass in The Hague the Houses of Parliament, the Peace Palace, Scheveningen, the North Sea beach resort, and visit the miniature town Madurodam.

Delft Blue, The Hague and Madurodam
  The first stop is Delft, a well preserved old Dutch town, where a visit will be paid to a "Delft Blue" pottery.

We then proceed to the Hague, the seat of the Dutch Government, where we visit the miniature village Madurodam. After sightseeing in The Hague we return to Amsterdam via Scheveningen with its spacious promenades and silvery beaches, attracting many sun lovers.

Sunday country side
  This drives takes a south-easterly direction to the New Land, recently reclaimed, and to Naarden, a fortified town, shaped like a five-point star, miraculously preserved, despite a history of bloody sieges.

We continue to the wooded "Gooi", the "Garden of Amsterdam" and drive through centuries old polders, criss-crossed by ditches and rivers. Along the tranquil river Vecht, well known for its beautiful 17th and 18th century mansions and castles, we reach the lovely lake district of Loosdrecht for a cup of coffee (included).

Windmills, Zaanse schans and Edam

  This excursion is to "de Zaanse Schans" a small 40-house community just to the north of Amsterdam on the banks of the river Zaan.

There used to be 700 windmills here at the turn of the 18th century, nowadays there are only 5 left.
The houses are made of green timber, have steep roofs and white window frames. A visit will be made to a windmill and a wooden shoe factory. Before returning to Amsterdam through typical Dutch scenery, we visit the medieval town of Edam.

Alkmaar and Windmills
  You see a time-honoured Dutch tradition, taste-testing and weighing cheese, in 700-year-old Alkmaar.

Watch four teams from the Cheese Carriers Guild complete for the fastest, faultless timing while handling tons of tender produce. then we drive through rural scenes to "de Zaanse Schans", where, at the turn of the 18th century, used to be 700 windmills. Nowadays there are only 5 left.

Volendam and Marken
  Interesting excursion to Volendam, an old picturesque fishing village on the shore of the former Zuiderzee, and to Marken, which has been joined to the mainland by a dike.

On the way out we visit a cheese farm and we return through typical Dutch scenery.
